First Class FAQs

+ Which class should I start with?

At Yoga Room Hawaii, all of our classes can be modified to fit any level. If there's a specific class you're especially interested in, you are more than welcome to start there. For those who have never taken yoga before, our Om Vinyasa 1 class is a great place to start as it focuses on foundational postures and alignment. Visit our Class Types page to learn more.

+ What should I bring with me to class?

Come prepared with a mat, towel, a water bottle, and any props you like to use in your practice. We recommend wearing comfortable and breathable clothing, particularly for our heated classes. If you're taking a heated class, putting a towel over your yoga mat can help with traction.

+ When should I check into class?

For in-studio classes, please arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts. For Live Stream classes, make sure you log in 5 minutes prior to class to ensure you are set.

+ How often should I practice?

There is no right or wrong answer. Some people feel content doing yoga once a week, while others prefer a daily commitment - the goal is simply to show up for yourself. For beginners looking to experience the most benefits yoga has to offer, we recommend getting on your mat at least three times a week.

+ How do I register for class?

  1. Click the “Book A Class” button in the upper righthand corner of this screen. You will be redirected to our Mariana Tek scheduler.

  2. Select the class you want to take by clicking “Reserve.” Note that there are two versions of each class - one livestream (Zoom) and one in studio.

  3. You will be prompted to create a Mariana Tek account or login.

  4. Select your payment option. If you've never practiced with us before, your first week is free if you are a Hawai'i Resident! Simply choose the Free Week option under Intro Offers.

Yoga is the savior for me during this pandemic. I’ve learned to take a deep breath, relax, and let things go. Yoga has centered me to focus on the present moment and know that life will work itself out.
